Del Ray Farmers’ Market, established in 1994

The Del Ray Farmers’ Market is a food and plant-based market located in the heart of one of Alexandria, Virginia’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. During the peak season, there are more than 30 farmers and vendors offering fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheeses, breads, fresh pasta, baked goods and cut flowers.

Getting to the Market
There is street parking on Mt. Vernon and on side streets. There is also a parking lot across Oxford Ave., behind Virginia Commerce Bank, Cheesetique and Let’s Meat on the Avenue, which is free for patrons during market hours.

Biking: There are several bike racks across the street at St. Elmo’s coffee shop. It is also possible to chain bikes to sign posts near the market.

Bus: There is a bus stop at the market (Mt. Vernon & E. Oxford) that both Metro and DASH buses utilize.

Metro buses:
10 A (Hunting Towers-Pentagon line) or 10B (Hunting Towers-Ballston line). Buses are equipped to handle bikes; read Metro’s instructions on how to use the rack at the front of the bus. See the exact route on their timetables schedule or use the next bus feature to see when a bus will arrive at a bus stop of your choice.

DASH bus: AT 10 (Potomac Yard-King Street line. See the exact route on the DASH bus webpage.

We love dogs, but ask that they do not enter the market footprint. They are welcome to hang on Oxford Avenue, between our market lots. There are often pet-centric vendors set up there. If so, there are treats.
